The Down Under Hoot! No, you Pervs, not THAT down under!

Hey there! Thanks to everyone who participated in the Plants Hoot on May 22, 2002. It was a huge success and we were all introduced to some new and fresh talent from Chicago's rich tapestry of artists! I loved the song selections, the performances AND the poems!

I hope those of you who won my rock memorabilia are enjoying your prizes! I had a blast telling all the stories associated with each auction item and I hope you enjoyed hearing them too.

Now, its time for me to get my posse back in the saddle! As they say, the insanity you know is better than the insanity you don't know. (Just kidding!) Perhaps the Hoot Night Regulars will get another night off at some point, but not for a long time! I LOVED our guest artists, but I missed the All-Stars!!!

The next Hoot Night is scheduled for July 31, 2002 and the theme of Down Under comes to us from a visitor to the Hoot Night website, Mr. Worth Wagers!!! Yes, our very own Worth (ex-Moviegoers, ex-Cow Lily) who is living Down Under suggested this as a theme and everyone seems to be pretty
excited about it! The music of Australia and New Zealand - AC/DC, Crowded House, INXS, Kylie!, Men At Work, Olivia Newton-John, Kiri Te Kanawa!!!!! ...and so much more! The surprises are gonna be awesome.

Sure, it'll be a grand show! Hey, why don't you write a poem about it? Remember, all your favorites will be back for this very special Hoot! Oh, and this isn't official yet, but the show may turn into a benefit to cover some moving costs for a dear friend of ours that may be relocating from Chicago. Don't ask!

Until then, please take care of yourselves and continue to nurture and support independent music in Chicago. It's NOT this good everywhere...that's one thing I'm sure of!
